Mini-symposia

Call for proposals

Proposal deadline: Sept. 15

ASBMB members are invited to propose mini-symposia for the 2026 ASBMB Annual Meeting — an opportunity to curate compelling scientific conversations, spotlight emerging areas of research and build new collaborations across the molecular life sciences.

Mini-symposia are intended to go beyond the standard abstract sessions; they should be thematic and forward-looking, bringing together presenters and participants for in-depth discussions around timely and impactful scientific topics. These sessions are not designed to feature abstracts already submitted to the annual meeting.

Organizers have flexibility to shape their session’s content, format and speaker lineup. We encourage proposals that:

  • Bridge multiple disciplines or research areas
  • Engage diverse perspectives from across the scientific community
  • Foster dialogue and interaction among attendees

All proposals will be reviewed for scientific strength, alignment with the meeting's themes, and scheduling feasibility. Priority will be given to proposals that are cross-disciplinary and align with the following topics.

Select from these scientific areas:

  • BMB Education and professional development
  • Cancer biology
  • Cell and developmental biology
  • Chemical biology
  • Computational biology, predictive technology and AI
  • Drug discovery and pharmacology
  • Enzyme chemistry and catalysis
  • Epigenetics and gene regulation
  • Glycobiology and extracellular matrices
  • Immunology
  • Lipids and membranes
  • Metabolism
  • Microbiology
  • Neurobiology
  • Nucleic acids
  • Omics
  • Plant biology and natural products
  • Proteins
  • Science advocacy & communication
  • Signal transduction
  • Synthetic biology and bioengineering
  • Translational and applied research

Organizers must be regular, industry or early-career members of the ASBMB.

Submit your proposal and help shape a dynamic, collaborative and innovative program at ASBMB 2026!
