Workshops

Call for proposals

Proposal deadline: Sept. 15

Workshops at the ASBMB Annual Meeting are 60- to 90-minute events that emphasize active learning so participants come away with tangible skills that can be used immediately or in the future.

Workshop proposals in the following categories will be considered:

  • Technical skills or new technology: Topics include both skills (e.g., coding, data analysis) and technologies (e.g., machine learning, virtual reality) to advance one's research program.
  • Education or professional development: Topics ranging from pedagogy and classroom practices to career exploration and transferrable skills needed by the scientific workforce. Workshops focused on enhancing belonging and opportunity in STEM are also encouraged.

Proposals will be evaluated based on their strength, relevance and needs of the meeting, and capacity.

Organizers must be regular, industry, or early-career members of the ASBMB.
